Odd Vocal Chants
£14.00
Download Method: Kontakt Hub
CCT-Volume 1: Chant Tool, is, at heart, a choir library but instead of singing, this library contains lots of different syllables, shouts, whispers and some bonus sounds like claps, stomps and snaps.
It enables you to quickly add some unique vocals to your tracks or productions.
CCT-Volume 1: Chant Tool, is the ODD answer to a choir library. But instead of singing, this library contains lots of different nonsense syllables, shouts, whispers and some bonus stuff like claps, stomps and snaps. In other words, this is for you who want to add some unique vocal stuff to your track. Includes 24 .nki files with different content that you can play around with. Please ensure you have the complete and latest version of Kontakt 5 (not the free player)
This is my first ambitous sample project, originally meant to be used by me alone for a personal project, but since I thought there maybe were some fellow composers out there, which might been interested in something similar, I decided to offer it for sale
After all the hard work, CCT-Volume 1 has become a reality. It took me about 6 months from concept to finished product, and lots of sparetime, mixing, editing and sample cutting. I'm lucky to have a wife who supports me and all my crazy ideas, otherwise I guess I´d been a head shorter by now.
*: Three different samples per syllable combined into one, and also edited to get a bit bigger.
**: For the ”NATURAL” patches, I've picked the best version of the actual sample for each of the syllables. And the sound in these patches are, except from some simple editing like fade in or/and out and some mastering, the actual sound from the recording session.
All sounds were performed by 8 amateur perfomers, me included.
great for layering with other vocal tools. the sound layout is easy to use

For the price, it's hard to find any other vocal library capable of delivering this sort of impact. I purchased the library precisely because it offered exactly what I needed; powerful, nordic-sounding vocal chants and shouts. It may not necessarily be the most "playable" library, but its specific tone, range of options, and variety of syllables, shouts, effects provides a wide range of creative tools. The fact that it's a more specific sort of library also helps Vocal Chant Tool stand out against other vocal libraries that feature a similar, but comparatively limited, range of samples. This features a larger selection of syllables than most of the larger, more expensive vocal libraries on the market, which is in and of itself notable -- but its the unique sound of these "nonsense" syllables that really make this library shine. It's entirely possible to use this as the sole vocal library in a composition given the larger than average range of recorded sounds; layering different syllables presents even more possibilities, as does crossfading between different chants and shouts or combining multiple patches. It's also great to use as a supplemental vocal library. You can definitely squeeze some big sounds out of this, but you can just as easily dial things down to easily blend with other libraries. The 'designed' patches and collection of fx can also be used quite nicely for sound design purposes. The only caveat I can think of is that while it's decently playable, it does feel fairly stiff in comparison to other vocal offerings. I find it easier to render out individual syllables, shouts, and effects and use this a bit more like a construction kit than compose entirely "in the box", but considering how affordable this is, I can't bring myself to honestly hold that against it, given everything else it offers. All in all, I'm more than satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend the library to anyone even remotely interested. For anyone in need of chants and shouts, this is a no-brainer, but I'd recommend this just as readily to anyone looking to spice up their music with some additional vocal samples. It doesn't cost much, it's light on memory, and it offers a wide range of sounds across multiple patches. What's not to like?

This one is (also) great - worth the money!

I've been looking for male shouts for a long time. They are usually in expensive choral libraries. I have choirs, but without shouts. The Vocal Chant Tool fills this gap perfectly. Great value at a reasonable price. Ease to use. There is no time stretch. Therefore 4 stars.

They do sound like they came straight from Skyrim, but that's a good thing. Pretty usable library, may help you to add some spice into your combat music tracks or movie trailers.

A fun tool that adds something different. You won't get these sounds unless you have a large number of hefty men handy. Takes a little tweaking to quantize the sounds sometimes.

Its no choir , Its no understandable vocal phrase builder, but it gives a wide range in vocal creativity in rythmic sequences, creative synth and vocal combinations. Interesting samples. I like the tool and will use it a lot I think. Also simple to use .

I was needing something like that for an project and, for the price, there's nothing quite like that around. With an little creativity you can even expand the possibilities that are available in the product.

This is a very small and niche library that I found last year while searching for some chanting similar to the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. This library nails that sound. It has a wide variety of syllables and also whispers, effects, claps, and more. This is probably the most versatile library you can get for male chanting, as most choir libraries have some chants, they don't offer nearly this many. Great find!

The main selling point of this track is the epic chanting which was all done with the Vocal Chant Tool by ODD samples. Other libraries include Vocalise 2 by Heavyocity, Action Strikes, NI Massive synth, and VSL patches from Komplete 10 Ultimate (strings, brass, etc)
