Version: Kontakt 5.8.1 / WAV / V1
Beautiful, haunting vintage 1970s string synthesizer sounds.
Download Method: Kontakt Hub
The EKO Stradivarius is one of the rarest and hardest to find string synthesisers from the 1970's.
It has an incredibly rich and vibrant sound all of its own.
I personally spent a long while hunting one of these synths down and eventually found one, but it was in Italy and had to be shipped here. I could not find one in the UK!
The EKO was released in the 1970's and used by the likes of Vangelis during his 70's live shows, the EKO produces beautiful and haunting string sounds of that era. Our version will allow for you to easily create those sounds and go way beyond what the original hardware can do.
Each of the 6 original sections of the EKO stradivarius has been sampled in great detail.
PLEASE NOTE: The FULL version of Kontakt 5.8.1 is required (NOT Kontakt Player)
SECURE SERIAL SYSTEM
This product features its own custom serial system.
You will require the full version of Kontakt to load EKO (Not Kontakt Player).
When you purchase EKO you will be provided with a unique code which is required to unlock the instrument. Please check out the install and unlock video for more information.
We have added many, many extra features to allow for greater sounds to be created from the core sound of the EKO Stradivarius. We also added a special set of Ensemble processed samples for a very rich and vibrant sound. Both sample sets can be freely mixed with each other for extra creativity.
How about each section panning independently of each other?
Each section also has independent filter shapes with a huge range of filter types to choose from, vowel filters, phasers filters and each synth section (all 6) has them - lots of scope for sound creation or use the snapshots that come supplied which will give a wide range of sounds that can be tweaked and modified by you.
Easily create beautiful and lush strings, haunting pads, synth leads, special analogue type effects, synth stabs and then pass them through the effects section.
The effects section has bus sends for each synth section and allows for you to 'dial in' just the right amount of effects for each section.
- Reverb (Convolution - 37 Impulses to choose from)
- Sync Delay
All audio demos and video demos use only the presets from this Kontakt instrument.
Suitable for all kinds of music from abstract electronics, 70's disco, modern EDM. Would also sound great being used to score a Zombie movie like Romero's Dawn of the dead or some obscure Italian horrow/zombie movie.
Stradivarius EKO - A nice addition
First a caveat, I love vintage string machines, Mellotrons and the like. Stradivarius EKO is a rather nice and somewhat quirky Kontakt library of this rare 70s string machine. There are four "string" sounds, Contrabass, Cello, Viola and Violin with respective ranges. The violin in particular sounds very good both in solo and ensemble modes. The Contrabass does not have the same "oomph" as say a Soilina but has a pleasant woody tone. There are Trumpet and Horn sounds, which are useful, not highly realistic of course but good additions to this vintage sounding library. The real power lies in layering, each section's parameters can be edited individually and can combine to create some great synthetic string ensembles. The wide range of filter types expands the sound variety way beyond the capabilities of the original instrument. The effects section has a pretty basic selection of chorus, phaser, flanger, reverb and delay. Each section has an individual sent to each of the effects adding a lot of versatility. Read the manual carefully with respect to installing the snapshots.
Great string library
This is a great library. Sounds very analogue and though I hate to use the term warm, it does sound very warm. Stradivarius has an organic unpredicatle analogue edge to it that I find really pleasing. I own several ensemble string libraries and Stardivarius fills a nice space somewhere inbetween them all. Love the presets that come with it and the huge collection of extra features such as autopan and the filter collection makes this a tweakers delight and makes sounds some other stringers could only dream of. All in all a great and highly usuable product that sounds great.
For my taste, this is the most flexible and great sounding Stringmachine so far. All the various samples have character and immediatly you get the feeling that the sound is "special" and unique. It is big fun to combine and play around with the 6 voice layers. The 2 Brass voices (Trumpet & Horn) are also a great addition, when it comes to frequency mixing with the 4 string voices (Contrabass. Cello, Violin & Viola). You get a huge possibility park without getting lost, because the single voices have all you need, but as well a comfortable simplicity, GUI wise. The only soft minus, for me, is that I miss skipping arrows to hop faster through the immense amount of filter types. But that's it. Great instrument!
Synth Magic Sublime Again
I own most of the instruments available from Synth Magic. They are splendid recreations of fantastic gear with incredible patch selections "out of the box". Stradivarius EKO achieved and surpassed my high expectations. Another superb offering from a master alchemist in the dark art of synth resurrection!
