Retcon is the natural evolution of the BOCS series. It pulls together all three previous libraries along with a massive amount of new content to bring you the finest collection of ambient inspired sounds.
More than just another sound library, Retcon is a uniquely designed virtual instrument that features a colour coded HEX layout giving you easy access to a wealth of controls. Designed specifically with ambient and synth music in mind. Retcon contains a host of powerful features built specifically for creating atmospheric, lofi, heavily modulated pads, leads, keys and plucks. The centrepiece of Retcon is its custom 16 step chord sequencer that offers unlimited inspiration with it’s unique approach to creating music.
Quickly build long evolving chord progressions up to 4 bars in length or program fast moving and otherwise impossible modern chord sequences. With numerous features including legato/retrigger, latch hold, auto fade and 16 unique patterns all switchable via MIDI keyswitches there is enough power and control to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding user.
The full version of Kontakt is required please - not for Kontakt Player.
Retcon is an advanced sound design tool designed for the modern ambient and cinematic composer in mind. Taking obvious cues and inspiration from the revered Boards Of Canada Retcon goes much further by offering complete control to mix and manipulate the sounds therein. At the heart of Retcon is a dual voice wave-based architecture containing 84 unique patches which can be blended and controlled separately or in unison.
Retcon’s feature set is split across six pages of 19 hexagon controls focusing on Voice, Filter, FX, Options, Modulation and Sequencer. Each page is carefully laid out and uses an easily identifiable colour scheme to make the experience intuitive and fast.
Designed specifically for use with the latest hardware from Native Instruments Retcon is heavily integrated with both Maschine and Komplete Kontrol. Featuring 130 snapshot presets with plugin mapping and seamless control for browsing and loading sounds.
ADVANCED PATCH BROWSER
The filters page gives you 3 different filters per Voice which can be dynamically changed using various LFOs and envelopes. Each voice can be filtered individually (Parallel) or together (Series)
The sequencer page is an advanced chord generator and pattern creator offering controls over the the Volume, Pitch and Chord of each step. Each patch can hold 12 unique sequences with additional controls for Latch, Fade and Retrigger modes.
The FX page gives you a huge amount of additional control to shape your sound

Very good inspiring instrument, nice vibe. Will make you want to join a commune in Scotland.
This instrument is a piece of art. Playing with it is a boon!
Very innovative. Really cool interface --if a little daunting at first.
Great authentic sound and presence. limitless potential for creative uses
Nice instrument to have in my arsenal. Gives me that tape feeling synth when I can't be bothered to hook my own synths up to my tape machine!

These guys nailed it. This sounds GREAT! Would definitely recommend.
Music has the right to Kontakt
Ok, so I hate writing titles. But I love this library. Retcon has all the quintessential sounds from BOC's first full length. With some tweaking, you can escape being pigeonholed as a tribute band and do your own thing. I write dream pop and the pads in this library are a must have for that genre. I would love an expansion to this.
Retcon - Boards Of Canada Synthesis by AudioWarp
An extremely inspiring instrument that allows you to take that BOC sound and take it in your own direction. The sequencer and animation control is great and the presets are fun to play with. I'd love to see add ons in the future. This would work for many different genres, such as ambient, score, vapour wave, pop, etc.. AudioWarp is a great developer.
i use it almost everyday. Gritty, Warm, and Customization.
If you're a BoC fan, or even just a fan of lo-fi ambient in general, you pretty much know what to expect from this library. The surprise here is just how easily Retcon could fit into various genres and styles. Even if I don't plan on using Retcon for a track, I load it anyway just to get my creativity going. The UI looks daunting but it's just the opposite -- it's actually clean and easy to understand once you use it a bit. An excellent all-around library.
Wonderful woozy lushness
So far I haven't got far beyond tweaking a few presets, but the potential is immense for this nostalgia machine. Warm lush pads that with some work can be great for many uses and not just channelling BoC.
Retcon - Boards of Canada Synthesis
I have found this sample pack most amazing. Perfect for lush pads and analog type cinematic sounds.
Excellent vst and the Boards of Canada sounds are super legit.
Lush and nostalgic. This is a go-to for so many projects.
BoC and beyond
This library is an amazing piece of work. Surely it... umm... "draws inspiration" not only from the typical BoC sound, but also from very specific sounds in very specific songs. But it´s well done and presented in an interface that makes it easy to make the sounds one´s own and adapt them to different styles of music. While I like BoC, I don´t do that kind of music, but I always wondered how to add that special kind of warm lofi-sound to my music. Not anymore, thanks to AudioWarp. Thumbs up!
Possibly my favourite library
I'm a BoC fan and this is by far the best library I could find
Inspiring nostalgic sounds
I love using Retcon! I first heard of AudioWarp from the BOC instruments so this seemed like a no brainer. This could easily be more expensive. You really nailed the BOC sound and make it accessible without having to own everything they do!
Demo - Infinity Road
Check out this demo by Erick McNerney. All sounds created with Retcon.
