Felt Hammers

It has a very basic piano action with spring loaded felt covered hammers striking small magnet shaped tuning forks. Its a bit like a Fender Rhodes electric piano without the electric bits, and has a very lovely woody, clonky glockenspiel/celesta kind of sound.

One of the most inspiring sounds I've ever heard

I admit I haven't heard of dulcitione as an actual instrument before I've discovered Sound Dust - one of my favorite Kontakt instruments developers. The actual instrument fuses sound characteristics found in celeste, glockenspiel, vibraphone, music box and perhaps even steel drum, all at the same time! Someone had also described a dulcitone as an acoustic version of Fender Rhodes electric piano, which is also very acurate description. The instrument has been sampled in great depth using a binaural technique which gives an additional 3D feel. Also, like in all Sound Dust instruments, there is a number of FX and IR of boutique quality included. Although the GUI is not as intuitive as in other outings from the developer, it is quite powerful and rather easy to learn. Personally, I have all Sound Dust dulcitone instruments for Kontakt and each of them is unique in its own way, so I recommend getting all of them. Creme de la creme.
