Product Overview

This library contains lush and warm pads and textures. It is small in size but definitely big in sound. The update now includes a whole palette of new
sounds that range from cinematic piano sounds over beautiful harp sounds to rich atmospheres. Furthermore are you now able to further shape the raw sounds
by taking advantage of the improved modulation possibilities and the extended fx rack.

As with all kontakt libraries please make sure you have the correct version of kontakt. In this case you must have the full version of kontakt v5.5.2 or above.

Have fun with this update!

If you're unsure whether this is right for you, here's a short example of what's included in Mountains

Image supporting THE INTERFACE

The new interface gives you now full ADSR control and has a master section where you can set Stereo width, Filter (LP) cutoff, Output gain and Panorama position. Each of the three patches has also some individual controls like a con sordino button for the strings or tape saturation settings for the pads.

Image supporting DEEP MODULATION

Really go crazy with the new modulation engine for mountains. Create smooth filter and pan sweeps or crazy rhythms using one of the five available sequencers along with the four LFOs. The Sequencers can modulate distortion, filter, volume, pan and mod fx. All of them are time independent, so you can set the tempo for each of the five individually. In addition to that do you get four LFOs, which can control volume, pan, pitch and stereo width. They can be synched to your host as well.
The snapshots include an INIT and and INIT (Smooth) snapshot. Use the INIT (Smooth) snapshot if you really want to draw smooth filter or volume curves. Otherwise just use the regular one.

Image supporting FX RACK

The Fx rack includes Reverb, Phaser, Delay, LoFi, Convolution and Eq. It is divided into three tabs. Tab 1 contains Phaser and Reverb, Tab 2 contains Delay and LoFi and Tab 3 contains Eq and Convolution.

  • 3 Kontakt patches (.nki)
  • 122 snapshots (.nksm)
  • 80 samples (Either 96 or 48khz/24bit)
  • 12 custom IRs
  • 200 mb (ncw compressed from 300 mb of raw data)
  • Requires Kontakt 5.5.2 or higher

Great options for creating individual soundscapes

There is already a great review form Stan about resona but I would like to recommend this one as a perfect addition. The general concept is the same: - special "soundenvironments" here presented as nki-presets combined with - soundsets inside the nki soundenvironment too choose from Evry "soundenvironment" has just a special combination from effects so that it is really easy too build your sounds. My absolute favourites: the "evolve" options in the "airy pads" which are under something called "space". Dont really know what this is exactly about but it just sounds great and really brings totally different sounds in the same environment and with same soundsets. And in combination from nki with included sounds you have more then 200 sounds at starting point. Only two little wishes: sad that string patch has only one soundset would love some choices here (for example something deep like cello/low strings, smaller/bigger string ensembles....) and second: maybe possible to get some more concrete naming to the bonus patches (warm/cold etc. like the "regular" ones would be enough as just a hint).

All you'd expect

Specialising in those slow attack, floating, majestic textures that are great for positive or pensive soundtracks. There's a lot of similar stuff around, but this is now one of my favorites. Great presets that you can even use alone to make a complete track.

Amazing sounds, especially the strings!

I don't love the font. There I said it. And that is LITERALLY the only complaint I have. A huge collection of really cool sounds that transport you somewhere. Instant soundtrack stuff. Highly recommended if that's what you're looking for!

Brilliant, evocative, atmospheric sound .. Delivers much more than the asking price!

A truly beautiful sonic experience that will get you inspired to compose spacious resonant relevations that evoke mountains yet equally capable of capturing the delicacy of the thin air and mists of the high country, .. transports you. Highly recommended. And, at the asking price, is absolutely a win-win. Thank you Sound Aesthetics Sampling :)

I 100% agree with all the positive reviews already given by everyone, so i can only say that "Mountains" is a no brainer if you like soft pads, plucks, textures and even strings for your ambient/cinematic tracks. And the price tag is extremely generous;it´s almost a gift to be honest. There´s quite alot of patches and even tho some of them are a bit similar, that doesn´t hurt your creativity in any way; it actually it ends up helping because the subtle changes in those patches allow you to quickly add more variation to your tracks without changing much from the original idea, resulting in focused and not stagnant or boring tracks. Basically what i mean to say is that sometimes, less is more. Don´t let those words scary you tho, there are plenty of patches to choose from, it´s just that sometimes libraries are not focused like "Mountains". It serves his purpose without losing it´s identity and you can "see" that throughout the whole library. With the version 3 of Mountains and version 2 of Resona(another library from the same developer) coming out soon, i cannot wait to try them and get inspired both from the new sounds that are being added and from the new UI who´s quality is way better than pretty much 95% of libraries out there. If you are someone like me, who thought Mountains looked a little bit outdated( i liked Resona´s UI but the new one is amazing) then you will be extremely happy to see that the v3 of mountains and v2 of Resona got a huge comestic improvement. To finalize, not only Sounds Aesthetics Sampling libraries are awesome but they think as a costumer and not only as a developer which leaves me no doubt that in the long run, that, along with their professionalism and simpathy will obtain them alot of loyal costumers like me. Hopefully we are able to change the rating of the reviews we give, because i might want to change this to 5 stars once i play with the V3 of Mountains. *EDIT* After trying Mountains V3 i truly have to give it 5 stars due to the improvement overall and its price being so easy on your wallet. The snapshots(120+) included in the new version are just pure joy to play with and provide instant inspiration, specially for the cinematic and ambient music lovers. The engine is alot better as well, from the effects to all the other shaping tools at our disposal. Plus, it looks great which doesn´t hurt. We all like eye candy! Great job!

Exquisite sounding and extremely useful.

I've been using Mountains since V.1, so I was expecting good things when I read V.3 had been released..and Sound Aesthetics Sampling certainly didn't disappoint with this version! While I can appreciate the point mentioned already about the sample bank size, I've found the supplied sounds highly useful "as is", as well as being ideal for tweaking in a project to my own taste. In other words, they are great sounds right "out of the box"..but they also make fantastic jumping off points from which you can make them your own by adding 3rd party FX and filters. That said, it also needs to be pointed out this version of Mountains comes with a really solid and well thought-out FX section, that equals many "high end" Kontakt instruments on the market..which makes Mountains all the more worth adding to your box of musical Kontakt tools. In short, if you make any sort of Ambient or Down-Tempo music, then you really need to give this little gem a try..you WON'T be disappointed. Well worth the small fee involved.

Awesome sounds. Really really dig this one. As another reviewer stated, there are way more sounds than what's listed. A bargain for what you get. Beautiful!

Beautiful Pad Machine!

I was surprised by the quality of sounds in this library. My go-to pad machine at the moment, but also works with lead sounds. Big up from the new update that brought new stuff in it. For the price it's a bargain.
