Product Overview

Dark continues the theme of pads, but with Dark we delve into the world of dark and hard sounds.
With Dark we’ve included rhythmic loops.

There are 474 tempo synced rhythmic patches and 236
non RYM patches. 4846 Samples. 7.22gb in size.

We tried the sounds of Pure and Dark with rhythms and thought they sounded really good, so we’ve included loops and we intend to expand on the loops to complement the pads.

Bundle is a bargain at full price---no-brainer or insane during sales

Dark shares a common interface and features with Pure and Pads, two other members of the Insusurro Bundle. My opinion is that Dark stays true to its name and has the more gritty and somber patches of the bundle. Dark, along with Pure, has both rhythmic and non-rhythmic patches (the common interface for Dark, Pure, and Pads does not have an arp feature). I paid over twice the current price for the bundle but I have no complaints---even at full price the bundle is a bargain. Seriously---over 2200 dual-layer, tweakable presets in the bundle. The rest of this review is boilerplate from my Pure and Pads reviews (because of the common interface/features): Sliders control the two anonymous voice levels. The voices are part of a patch and not individually selectable---new patches cannot be created by mixing and matching voices. However, each voice has three leveled envelopes (Amp, LoPass, HiPass) and filter controls, so voices can be tweaked and mixed with their master sliders. The one-page GUI is well-designed and nicely color-coordinated. The synth parameter buttons only change the display; they do not turn parameters on/off; you must zero-out the appropriate control to nullify a synth parameter. I found this to not be especially inconvenient because of the overall clean design of the GUI. The EFX selection buttons do include a smaller On/Off button. Effects are master and have a quick routing system (simply re-arrange the buttons). Patches/samples sound good. Patches load quickly. Five stars for the combination of bundle value (sale price), ease of use, number of patches, and sound.
